On Sunday, 27.10.2024, a tractor blessing took place at St. Paul’s Church in Lieser in combination with a Thanksgiving service.
Many tractors from Lieser and the surrounding area gathered at St. Paul’s Church in glorious sunshine. Even the procession of tractors through the vineyards was a beautiful sight. Of course, the line-up of tractors at the top of St. Paul’s Church was also a sensational sight.
By 11:30 a.m., all the tractors and harvest vehicles had arrived and Pastor Moritz blessed every single vehicle. Among them were also some toy tractors made by children.
To this end, magnets with pictures of St. Paul’s Church were distributed to the drivers of the tractors. This should be a nice reminder of this day.
Afterwards, the family service for Thanksgiving took place at 12:00 noon in St. Paul’s Church.
The chancel was decorated with the donations for the food bank in Wittlich.
In addition to the guitar accompaniment, another highlight was the performance by the flute children and the presentation by the kindergarten children from Lieser.
After the family church service, guests were invited to a lunch and drinks. Potato soup was served and everyone was able to enjoy the wonderful weather with a view of the primeval valley of the Moselle.
